Yes! As part of our commitment to the Museums for All initiative, EBT cardholders receive free entry to our Period House and also qualify for 50%-off scholarships for classes, camps, and workshops. Gallery admission is always free.

The main entrance is located in the center of the glass walkway at the front of our property. From the drop-off area near the "Welcome" mural, follow the brick path and signage to our main entrance.

Yes! We welcome children in our galleries, on tour in the Period House, and at our many classes and special events. Explore as a family with children's gallery guides, a Period House scavenger hunt, or try a hands-on class. Learn more.

Free on-street parking is available on Leasure Avenue, Blaine Street and Winter Avenue surrounding our Center. Accessible parking spots are located on Leasure Avenue next to the main entrance walkway. Our passenger drop-off zone also is available for direct access to the front entrance.

We are located in New Castle's North Hill Historic District – approximately one hour north of Pittsburgh, 1.5 hours south of Erie, and just two hours from Cleveland, Ohio.

Gallery admission is always free. Drop in anytime during open hours – no tickets needed.

Tours of the Period House cost $10 for individuals and $25 for families of three or more. Period House admission is free for Hoyt members.

You do not need a reservation to visit our galleries or take a self-guided tour of the Period House. However, advance reservations are required for guided tours of the Period House or to sign up for any of our classes and workshops.

The Hoyt Arts Center is open during the following hours:

• Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
• Friday & Saturday: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Our center is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and national holidays. The last tours of the day are admitted one hour prior to closing.

Our galleries feature both permanent collections and touring exhibitions, which change every 8-12 weeks to showcase a wide range of artistic genres, expressions, and themes. Admission is always free, inviting you to return often and experience something new with every visit. Explore our current exhibitions.

We offer artmaking workshops, music lessons, and hands-on classes for all ages and skill levels. Led by supportive teaching artists, classes range from drawing and painting to ceramics and stained glass. We also offer summer camps and after-school programs designed for busy families.

We do not have an on-site cafe at the Hoyt. However, you'll find excellent dining options a short distance from our Center, including Le Resto, Edward's Restaurant & Lounge, VentiSei Wine Bar & Pizzeria, and Ben Franklin's Taproom & Grille.

We do not operate a staffed coat check, but you are welcome to use the complimentary coat racks located near the Welcome Desk.

Yes, accessible restrooms are available on each floor of Hoyt East, which houses our classrooms and main galleries. A restroom is also available on the ground floor of the Period House.

Strollers are welcome, and you will find ramps and elevators located throughout our main galleries and classroom areas in Hoyt East. Please note that the second floor of the Period House is accessible only by stairs.

Other than properly sealed water bottles, we do not allow outside food and drink at the Hoyt on a daily basis. Exceptions are available for visitors with food-related medical needs. Please contact Steve Herrell, Visitor Services Coordinator, at sherrell@hoytartcenter.org with any questions.
