The Seven Lively Artists – Dawn to Dusk

The Seven Lively Artists celebrates the enduring legacy of the Group of Seven, one of Pennsylvania's longest-running artist collectives. Founded in 1956 by seven commercial artists in the Harrisburg area who shared a passion for painting, the group has evolved over seven decades into a vibrant community of accomplished painters dedicated to the art of observation, craftsmanship, and lifelong learning.

Featuring more than 60 works by both founding and current members, the exhibition traces the evolution of the group while honoring the traditions that have defined it. Richly painted landscapes - many created en plein air - capture the beauty of Pennsylvania and beyond through a variety of artistic styles and perspectives. Collectively, the artists have studied at some of the nation's most respected art schools, exhibited in museums across the region, and influenced generations of artists as educators and mentors. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience the history, camaraderie, and artistic excellence of a group whose impact on Central Pennsylvania's cultural landscape continues to this day.
