Journeys Through Africa: Selections from the Hoyt Permanent Collection features a remarkable collection of artworks and cultural objects gathered over decades by local collectors during their travels across Africa. Representing countries including Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Tanzania, Tunisia, and beyond, the exhibition reflects not only the richness and diversity of African artistic traditions but also the personal journeys and cross-cultural connections that inspired the collection. 

Presented alongside From Your Soul to Mine in the museum’s galleries, this exhibition invites visitors to explore complementary perspectives on heritage, identity, and storytelling. Together, the two exhibitions create a meaningful dialogue between traditional and contemporary expressions of culture, celebrating the power of art to connect people across continents, generations, and lived experiences.
