Wire Wrapped Animal Sculptures
Twist, bend, and shape wire into an amazing animal sculpture that just might leap, flap or slither its way off the table! Learn simple wire-working techniques as you build your one-of-a-kind sculpture. As your animal takes shape, you'll discover how to create strong forms and add fun details that give your animal its own unique personality. Perfect for young artists who like to work with their hands or build. All materials are included.
Capacity: 16 students. Minimum: 5 students. Ages: 3–12.
Theresa has spent more than six years working with students in education, but she’s been an artist for as long as she can remember. She loves helping people of all ages discover a passion for art and learning. Theresa holds a BFA in Painting from Edinboro University of PA and now resides in Sharon, PA.
When she’s not at the Hoyt, you can usually find her painting, enjoying Buhl Park with her family, or working on a new creative idea. As our Assistant Education Director, she helps guide programs like After School Arts and the Youth Exhibitions, along with a variety of special projects throughout the year.

Celebrate the colors and traditions of Día de los Muertos in this creative family workshop! Learn about the meaning and customs of the Day of the Dead as you decorate a real sugar skull with colorful royal icing. Then create a festive wearable skull mask using bright colors, patterns, and decorative details inspired by this joyful celebration. The workshop includes a reading of Día de los Muertos by Roseanne Greenfield Thong. All materials are included.

Discover the art of relief carving and design your very own custom stamps! Using smooth rubber blocks, you'll learn to transfer your design, handle carving tools safely, and carve with precision. With all tools and guidance provided, you'll create and test two unique, handmade stamps to take home.
Capacity: 16 students. Minimum: 4 students. Ages 14+ (Ages 8-13 welcome if accompanied by an adult taking the course).
