Shrinky Dink Workshop

Create miniature works of art in this creative Shrinky Dinks® workshop! Design, color, and decorate special shrink plastic, then watch as heat transforms your artwork into durable, one-of-a-kind keepsakes. Choose from a variety of projects, including magnets, charms, earrings, keychains, and more. All materials are included.
Capacity: 12 students. Minimum: 5 students. Ages: 13+ (students 6–12 yrs may register with an adult also taking the workshop).
Known to her younger students as “Miss Paige,” Paige Kleinfelder brings creativity, energy, and a deep love for the arts to her role as Education Director. She plans and manages a wide range of educational programs for all ages including After School Arts and Summer Art Camp. Paige first joined the Hoyt in 2017 as Assistant Education Coordinator and has since worn many hats, including Outreach Director. Along the way, she’s continued to lead favorite programs like Art’s Club and Creative Play workshops.
A graduate of Elmira College with a degree in Studio Art, Paige previously served as Education Coordinator for the Butler Art Center. She’s also an accomplished painter whose oil works – often inspired by local signs and landmarks – can be seen on display at the Lawrence County Courthouse.
Transform vintage book pages into beautiful holiday ornaments in this creative upcycling workshop. Learn simple folding, cutting, and shaping techniques as you turn old book pages into elegant, literary-inspired decorations. Each ornament is one of a kind and perfect for decorating your tree or sharing as a thoughtful handmade gift. No experience is necessary. All materials are included.

Kick off the school year with a pop of personality! Families work together to design colorful, one-of-a-kind buttons using collage materials, magazine images, markers, and their own creative drawings, then use the button press to turn their little masterpieces into wearable art! Create matching family buttons or individual designs to decorate backpacks, jackets, lunch bags, and more. It's a creative way to show your family's unique style! The workshop includes a reading of Stephanie's Ponytail by Robert Munsch. All materials are included.

Turn simple paper strips into beautiful works of art in this creative paper quilling workshop. Learn how to curl, coil, loop, and shape colorful paper to create eye-catching designs with texture and dimension. No experience is necessary. All materials are included.

Explore the basics of pyrography as you learn to safely use a woodburning tool to add texture, detail, and shading to wood. With step-by-step instruction, you'll create personalized coasters and wearable pendants while building the skills to continue creating on your own. All materials are included.
